The Ancient Silk Road. What is going on in former Soviet states like Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan now that they have become independent and "opened up" for foreigners. What is a 'Lipjoska' and an 'Al Kapak'? Where is the silk? Wasn't cotton the main target for this area during the Soviet days? Ever visited a Silk Road city that is so old, that there is nothing left to visit?

Along The Mekong. At exactly 12:08 local time on the 10th of October 2003, we threw a plastic bottle in the Mekong river (this is next to all the chinese garbage and we are still planning on returning it to the store) to see weather it will be us or the bottle that reaches the ocean first (us... of course). Ever heard of the Bai and Dai minorities and how they look like?

Towards the south of South-east Asia. Just as we have crossed the border from Malaysia we are approached by the Singaporese police. Cycling on the highway is prohibited in Singapore. And for cyclists who can't run the hills... if you don't like long distances of 18% vulcano roads, never mind the south of Java.

Who Are We. Muriel and Raymond, and we live in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) again after we returned from cycling eight months. Why we went?! Several reasons. Inhaling culture, nature and history, and...  "Some call it a career break or sabbatical, we call it adventure or an experience for life!"
